Adjust FP Sensitivity

This document details the adjustment of the fingerprint scanner sensitivity on the ACTA3 generatation fingerprint capable readers.

NOTE: These setting require firware version 3.06.1412 or greater!

The ACTAtek 3 genereation fingerprint models utilize an optical fingerprint scanner.  In certain situations, the scanner might require the sensitivity to be adjusted to prevent "phantom reads".  The symptom of this issue is the reader initiating a fingerprint "scan" even when no finger is present to read.  This typically occurs repeatedly for some length of time.

To resolve this issue, the senstivity should be adjusted in increments of 100-200 until the reader stops phantom reading.

Follow these steps to adjust the fingerprint sensitivity levels:

  1. Log into the ACTAtek's web interface using a Super Administrator login
  2. Click on ther Terminal Setup link in the navigation menu:
  3. In the Fingerprint Related Setting section, increase the Detection Threshold to decrease the sensitivity:
  4. Click on the Submit button at the bottom of the page to apply the change.
